First Welsh person to score a US Number 1, quite an achievement.

I would have thought Shirley Bassey or Tom Jones might have got in there before he but evidently not.

She seemed a nice lady and fairly grounded from what I had seen of her in later life.

Total Eclipse of the Heart will always be a banger!

Heard a good story about her today about a recent-ish Van Morrison post-gig party in Cardiff, which was attended by a number of prominent Welsh artists, including Bonnie Tyler. Anyway, the story goes that Bonnie went up to Van The Man and told him she was a big fan of his music. Now most people would say thank you, but Van - famous for being a curmudgeonly old sod - said something like "I wish I could say the same about yours", whereupon Bonnie allegedly threw her drink over him and it all kicked off big-style. Fair-dos to her!
