Dave Gilmour - Comfortably Numb, and Marooned. bow
Lindsay Buckingham's solo of Big Love.
Steve Howe - Wurm.
Wishbone Ash (Andy Powell and Ted Turner I think) - Throw Down the Sword.
Mason Williams - Classical Gas.
Hendrix - Voodoo Chile
Clapton - Layla (of course).

Any more/better...?

Too many favourites to list here but one I would love to get hold of is a live recording of "Mother Mary" that Clapton did with Buddy Guy - just proving that a good guitarist can do more with one note that many mediocre axemen can do with 20 million

And anything at all by Slash, Blackmore, Page, Gilmore or Hendrix (I think every child in America should be made to listen to his version of the Star Spangled Banner everyday before they go to school)

They are not solos as such but watch Matt Bellamy live and his playing is awesome
