Since a couple of weeks ago when my Stagg Dreadnaught got knocked over and decappitated at a drunken party I have been on the look out for a new acoustic, but this time it has to be electro acoustic.

I'd seen a few on eBay at reasonable prices including a gorgeous looking Duncan style Squier "Fender" (that went way beyond what I was willing to pay in the end) but frankly buying a guitar is like buying a car: seriously unwise to not try before you buy!

I was in town today and came across the Ibanez TCY10.

I'd seen it in various places on the internet and wasn't that taken with it. Mostly bceause it has a strangely shaped body. However in the flesh it works, and the extreme shape give great access to the higher frets.
It also has a small sound box which, unplugged, is quieter than the Dreadnaught which on balance is probably good for the neighbours at least. Haven't it plugged in yet, but will tomorrow I think.

Having surfed around for reviews it genearally gets the thumbs up, being seen as an electric player's acoustic due the design of the neck and finger board and the "thin" sound of the body. Only real downside seeming to be the thin paint finish and lack of pick guard.

It might help me out with my electric playing too if it's similar to play... maybe.

Anyway, I thought I'd see if you knowledgible folk have any comments or alternative suggestions before I take the plunge on Giutar #3.

ps: I am also going to try to fix the Stagg, couldn't really make it any worse than it is now could I? hehe
