I'm trying to find the title of a reasonably famous piece of classical music.

It has French horns in it.
One of the words in the title begins with a 'H' (possibly the composer?)

I know it's a lot to ask with just those two criteria.

Thanks.

Jeez.

Um.

Haydn horn concerti? Mozart?

Go and look'em up and listen to some mp3s.

Could well be Mozart's Horn Concerto No.4 in E flat K495.

Why is there so much sarcasm on this site when someone tries to help?

Thats the one.

I've a feeling that the 'H' was the bloke that remixed it so to speak. boxedin

I wasn't being sarcastic!

There really aren't any aitches in Mozart.

Anyway, OP has his piece, that's the main thing. thumbup

biggrin Goodgood.

It was the introductory music to my book-on-a-tape of Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox when I was veryvery small... I could probably write the score out by memory if I tried hard enough.

H is B natural - Es is Eb wink

Amazed how somebody can get Mozart 4 from "it has horns in" - maybe it's because I'm a horn player? laugh

I just assumed that "famous" meant "popular" and that H was not the initial of the composer (since there are so few possibilities) and went from there.

Bugger. Well, I was close smile

It's kind of obvious, though - I mean if a non-musician hears and likes something horny (IYSWIM wink) then chances are it's the Mozart.

Anyone fancy a guessing game?
First one to get it right poses the next tune.

I'm hearing bells and cannons but it's not the 1812.
