BIL is going to the London one, it's all he's talked about for the last few weeks. Even if I'd wanted to go I don't think I could stomach it now after all his prattling!

Birmingham 5th sept

ah it was super, sting has still got what it takes, his voice was spot on. Seen a few of the "oldies" this year (WHO, Roger Waters, Genisis, enjoyed them all but their voices are not what they were)

...ing enormous bass,

possibly louder then The WHO

Enjoy

Are they doing an 'official bootleg' like the Genesis gigs recently?

Excellent!! Just shows what you can do with talent. Three guys, lead guitar, bass guitar and a drum kit (and ok a few million pounds worth of sound and lighting rig) but no backing band, no synths, no silly dancers, just the music. It is amazing how fresh the tracks sounds considering they are at least 25 years old. Favorite moment for me was Stuart Copeland's Tympany through Wrapped around your finger, class! But some great versions of all the classics, a few over indulgent guitar breaks form Andy Sumner. Sting's voice is still great even if has had to drop down the scale a little in places. Over all just fantastic to see them after all these years and it makes you realise what great songs they did.
The venue argghh, the NIA is ok once you're in there but the parking is a nightmare, as bad as the old wembley. Enjoy the Twickenham gigs everone.

Pretty good at Twickenham tonight, only downside being the nision/video producer who seemed unable to focus on the appropriate interesting bits. Took a while before they got the audience onside IMHO.
Apart from that sound was clean, Copelands drumming excellant and Summers decent with his solos.

I thought it was absolutely awesome, Stewart Copeland is my favourite drummer and he didn't let me down!

The atmosphere was awesome, on the second track (Synchronicity) all the screens came to life with the red, blue and yellow from the album and the place went electric.

Briliant.
