Love em, lucky enough to see them live at the Manchester Apollo years and years ago. There's also some great videos on Youtube.

Love 'em. Saw them at the NEC in 1988 on the 'Crest of a Knave' tour.

'Under Wraps' is the sound of my early teenage.

Ahhh booo, I've been listening to them for years but never seen them live.
Someone has put the orchestral set up on youtube and I can't help but play it over and over again. Some times I get little Ex, (sorry little MSH) on my knee and in front of the T.V. (sorry PC). Man how he bounces around!

If you've not hear the orchestral stuff here's a link, it was I understand him playing with the German Philharmonic Orchestra. It's just truly awasome, to the point where I keep sending links to my old fella asking 'why the didn't you make me learn to do this' hehe

Anyway here's a linky

Ohhhh.... that flute.. maybe it's just my speakers.. long live television.... television is dead.

It all reminds me of the day I saw Asian Dub Foundation pplay live to the film La Heine - i.e. musicians putting themselves into situations where you would never normally see/hear them! Top fun!

Love'em. Still play Aqualung occasionally, some great songs and it doesn't date.

Wond'ring aloud --
how we feel today.
Last night sipped the sunset --
my hands in her hair.
We are our own saviours
as we start both our hearts beating life
into each other.

Wond'ring aloud --
will the years treat us well.
As she floats in the kitchen,
I'm tasting the smell
of toast as the butter runs.
Then she comes, spilling crumbs on the bed
and I shake my head.
And it's only the giving
that makes you what you are.

Up on the A1, by Scotch Corner...

I could quite conceivably well up.

Put it this way, Jay Z or Ian Anderson?

Oh, God, it's just too depressing.

One of my favourite lines of all time. So evocative.

Aqualung is a tremedous album, I remember listening to it on one of the very first sony walkmans riding my bike to and from school during my A-Levels.

Wond'ring Aloud - I always thought was the perfect love song. It gave me visions of waking in bed and the most perfect girl would come into the bedroom with hot tea and toast, sunlight slanting in through the window... butter dripping.... and the silly darling would get crumbs in the bed.

A fabulous dream, well until I played it to Mrs MSH a few months ago. So there I was looking up to her with tear in my eye and she states 'It's OK, but it's just about a shag...'

'What?' I exclaimed.
'Oh come on, wise up...' she said 'Into each other' *snigger* 'Butter running... I shake my head... he'll be wiping it on the curtains next'.

Ruined it.... utterly ruined....

I retorted with 'Yeah and don't forget... It's only the giving that makes you what you are.... Thanks'.

Wond'ring Aloud

I also really like this one... Bouree

Not quite as depressing as Marillion though eh?
