Yep, booked mine earlier on this year when they were first announced.

Saw them at the Astoria in London in April this year smile

They are fantastic live.

Video clip I took on my camera at the Astoria. Unfortunately photobucket has put the voice a bit out of synch near the end frown

Will be booking up to see Nightwish in March 2008 over the next couple of weeks aswell smile

Oh, will have to investigate that. Trying to encourage my misus who has a classical music background onto more contemporary stuff and thought they'd be good. How heavy are they live? Can't see her in a mosh pit just yet smile

PS Anyone off to see Apocalyptica in December?

Very tempted to see Apocalyptica, HIM are also the following day aswell.

WT aren't heavy. They come under the bracket of Symphonic Metal or sometimes incorrectly labelled goth rock. People don't go mad, crowd surfing or anything like that. There is no mosh pit as such, but it is not a seated gig, although you may get seats upstairs. I've never been to Brixton so don't know what it is like.
They do perform most of their well known songs such as their slow ones Angels, Memories, All I Need, plus the heavier ones like Mother Earth, What Have You Done, The Howling and Our Solemn Hour.

The other band that you may want to see, and are more classically minded are Nightwish. Originally they had an opera singer as their lead vocalist, but they sacked her. Now they have a new singer, and are doing a tour next year.

Although with both bands they don't have a symphonic element on stage, but play to a symphonic backing track. Within Temptation did have problems at one gig where the backing track packed up completely. So they carried on and played without it.

Thanks dude. Very useful info.

I'm aware of Nightwish as well, along with Lacuna Coil, Leaves Eyes etc. I've been slowly trying to convert my girlfriend who's a classical/jazz musician into a rock chick smile

Haven't seen any of them live though, so it's very useful to find out what they'd be like. I know some most unexpected bands go a lot heavier live than on their albums.

Speaking of gigs, just got my entry through for Led Zep reunion pre-registration smile
