How many bands are you in currently ?

Just wondering, but is it bad form to be in two bands at once ?

Am very happy with current band, but I've got an invite to join a second band, which I thought might be fun ... wondered what the PH collective's thought were on "having a mistress".

Been there and it can work if your are able to spend equal time with both. Would be easier if you could be a part time member/session musician for one.

never played in one than one band myself but I was twice in bands in which a member also played for someone else - a guitarist and a drummer. Didn't really work - drummer oftem had to be in two places at once and the guitarist was a bit funny about which material he offered to each band.

I guess if one band doesn't rehearse or gig too much then it is workable but who gets first call?

1 main one which we are currently in a recording session for.

Help out some local dodgy ones with charity gigs and stuff like that free of charge.

Also do the odd stage band for shows and stuff.

I'm in two bands, one orignals and t'other is covers. It works fine as we have regular scheduled rehearsals for both, and gigs never conflict although often I'll have gigs on consecutive nights.

Best way to improve as a musician IMO - play with as many other different musicians as you can.

I'm in 2 bands at present, 1 originals (Solid Ground), 1 covers(DNA)although I do a lot of depping with other covers bands.
