I have searched to no avail, apologies if a re-post. I'm sure this must have been done before, however since the PH revamp I'm enjoying forums I never used to. So fellow PHers, who is your greatest male vocal'

I'll get the ball rolling with a couple of my favourites. Both in my opinion (and many fans opinions) legends. I also think Sebastian Back of Skidrow fame has a cracking sound, however live he is truly awful!

Eric Martin- Mr.Big

Steve Perry- Journey

Probably going to regret saying this, but Mick Hucknall, studio or live, he has a smashing voice.

Steve Perry can't hack in now though. He was superb once. If you get a chance to see Journey live, check out Dean Castronovos' voice. He gets the high Perry stuff spot-on. Plus he's drumming at the same time!

I agree, his voice is brilliant. His songs are just bloody irritating IMO!

I've seen some footage, I think I prefer Arnel Pineda. I hope to catch them when they tour with Whitesnake and Def lepord this year.

personally i think its roger daltrey by absolutely miles, paul weller comes second. if you listen to stuff from the jam then a song like "you do something to me" you can tell he is a class act.
other nominations are richard ashcroft and neil hannon fromthe divine comedy...

100% agree with roger daltrey. i saw them at harewood a few years back and with your eyes closed daltrey could still be in his early 20's. so much power & energy and very close to his studio sound.

beck sounds great live as do gruff rhys [SFA] and wayne coyne [flaming lips]. i wa also surpised by how well smokey robinson still sings.

hoping neil young still has it as i'm going to the hyde park gig. always a gamble seeing my hero's from an era before i was born, bob dylan was a big disappointment the 2 times i saw him live.

Not the greatest, but a bloody good live voice is Kenny Collins of Logan.
Worth checking out.

Being a pearl jam fan for a few years, i quite like eddie vedders voice, however, i have said before if i had to pick my all time favourite, then ricky medlocke of the 80's band blackfoot had a tremendous voice, and having seen them live at the demontfort hall in leicester, he can play the guitar quite well too!

Not the best 'singer' but best front man I've ever seen live was Dave Lee Roth..

Best actual singer was probably Omar... (dull gig though)
