What is it?

My vote has to go to The Chain, but only in the sense it makes me imagine epic landscapes and long winding roads, and of course F1.

Surely, 'Straight down the Middle' by Bing Crosby must be the greatest driving song of all time? whistle

It's funny you mention Holst, I love to drive to the bit in Jupiter that they used for World In Union....feel it's quite epic.

Some tunes I'm into at the moment are these:

NOTE the second one MAY not be work friendly, contains scantly clad women. wink

My choice does vary depending on what sort of driving I'm doing, a big one for me and one that essentially kicked off the process of me doing my last "driving" compilation CD is Death in Vegas - "Aisha"

Jimmy Eat World - "Sweetness" is another that really gets the MPG down!

Love that tune. So good live when the crowd get involved.

My submission to this thread: Cardigans - My Favourite Game.

Actually, that's a bit weak.

I think Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin has to be there for driving down a road, late at night, no traffic...

Full on Cerbera Hooligan moment said:
Sorry I have to disagree, late night and a journey to behold has to being with.... sit down, belt on, hit the starter button and give it an almighty blip on the loud pedal and take off like a scalded cat just as 'Bonzo' hits the first stick.

Never done that.

I need to do that.

Would that be from Led Zep 1 or live from Madison Square Garden? Personally I'd go for the live version, just for the eerie fully resolved violin bow section.
