Name a rock vocalist in operation today from a new band (<5 years) that can beat the best; I have been deafened by these guys over the years and think that no one currently has anything near the vocals + stage prez to come anywhere near.. please correct me.. cheers Andy

Brian Johnson
Planty
David Coverdale
Ozzy
Lemmy
Dio
.....

edited to say that some of these guys are better singers now than ever :0

All rock singers.
Is Johnson a better singer that Scott, NO!
Johnson is a shouter.
Dio (no longer with us) was a shouter too.

So, H from steps would be a good rock singer to replace them all.
There you go, sorted, close the thread please.

I can imagine Chris Cornell bettering all of Ozzy's vocals.

Another vote for Myles Kennedy.

Also Corey Taylor (for voice & stage presence) & Chris Robertson from Black Stone Cherry (powerful, soulful voice, sounds much older than his 26 years).

For sheer stage presence and a truckload of attitude,
I think Henry Rollins was hard to beat,
I only "discovered" him as he was ending his musical career.
Although some on here could say he was a "Shouter" I wouldn´t.

AND Bon Scott was the better singer, I wish they had done more songs like "Ride on".

100% agree with the above - Myles and Chris Cornell (love Soundgarden), funnily enough both performed on Slash's album. I like Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother too...

Any excuse for a bit of music!

Do have to agree though, they're thin on the ground these days frown

bow

I saw Henrys live show a few years ago, he was just pure attitude (in a good way).

I don't think theres any new bands (that i've heard anyway) that have front-men that compare to a lot of the older bands.

Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper are the best front-men I have ever seen.

I must be getting old, as I can't really name any modern rock bands I really like, let alone their singers.

Justin Hawkins had his moments I suppose, but hardly new now.
