Anybody bought the new album 'Different gear, still speeding'? (Hethers?)
Heard some of the tracks and unsurprisingly, it's very Oasisy (which is a relief in many ways). Might get this from itunes/HMV but £10 is taking the piss IMO. Might wait for it to drop in price as I'm a tight git.
Any views on the album ?

From the bits I've heard during enforced Radio 2 listening at work (it appears that the daytime DJs are only given three CDs to play in whatever order they like) it sounds a lot like Oasis would have if Noel wasn't sat there saying "Liam, stop being a

I'm actually off to see them at The Troxy in London on Thursday as my GF bought me tickets for Christmas, I'll let you know what it was like.....

Some of my friends were raving about them after going to a concert earlier this week. I checked out a few songs on Youtube and was decidedly underwelmed.
They'll never be as good as Oasis were in the early years, which to me is what they should be trying to acheive. Without Noel, Oasis would never have amounted to much, so i don't see why Beady Eye will.

I bought the album at the same time as the new Elbow one, (raising inevitable comparisons) & though lyrically it's a comparative embarrassment & lacks the musical sophistication, I have to admit I was grudgingly impressed overall: Liam appears to have matured as a songwriter, there are some genuinely good tunes on there & perhaps what was most striking was that he's started actually 'singing' again rather than persisting with the posturing drawl that had become the norm with the Oasis stuff. Not a bad album at all surprisingly.

Hello
Believe it or not, I'm thoroughly "nothing" about it. I'll get the album to have a listen out of curiosity, but the first previews of that very piano-ey song (forget the name) turned me off from the start, and I'm just not bothered about hearing it.
Contrast that to years gone by, I'd be waiting at the shop door to open to get the new album!

As is usual with anything Liam sings (including loads of the Oasis stuff), all the lyrics seem to be the same and every line ends with one of the followong:
Sky
Find
Try
Shine
Inside
High
Mind
Alright
Tonight
Feel
Real
See
Me
Be
Free
Way
Say
Day
so true. i call it 'cat sat on the mat' music. even on the first listen you can guess what the couplets are going to be after the first line. Sky
Find
Try
Shine
Inside
High
Mind
Alright
Tonight
Feel
Real
See
Me
Be
Free
Way
Say
Day
