Lighthouse Family tour 2011!

I'd waited 7 years to see Lighthouse Family, this ended last night in Portsmouth. Coincidently, the founding members decided to take a break for personal reasons around the same time that i started really getting in to them.

I'm glad to say that their performance was fantastic! their unique brand of "urban hymm" uplifting pop executed to perfection. Tundes' voice is as good as it is on the albums that were recorded more than a decade ago now. The band are an impressive 10 piece, each member clearly an accomplished session musician, with Paul Tucker on keys, providing most of the elevating strings that Lighthouse Family are known for. Apparently the tour is to promote their new record contract with Sony, with a new album in the works. The set list for this tour includes every one of their most well known tracks. The guildhall was packed out, as i hear every other venue on the tour so far has been too.

If you like their tracks, i'd really suggest trying to get tickets for this tour, it was a seated event in Pompey, but everyone were on their feet for most of the gig. I'm glad i finally got to see them and they certainly didn't dissapoint!
