I've got a Roland E30, 1990 vintage ... the onboard battery went dead long ago. I replaced it with a fresh 2032, but it still complains that the battery is dead, and it doesnt keep any of its settings.

Any ideas guys and gals ? Is there some kind of "reset" to remind it that it's now got a new battery ? Alternatively, anyone know of a good keyboard repairs place in the Midlands ?

Thanks !

oh p.s. ... I've tried more than one battery smile

Try a factory reset:

Roland E-30
hold write + power on

If you find a good Roland repairer, I'd be interested - I have a JD800 that needs a service.

Hi, thanks for the reply ...

Sadly, no ... it comes up with "loading factory settings" but then still goes on to say "check internal battery" ... blast :-)

Sorry it didn't work - good luck finding a repairer.
