Hmmmmm - 'Fools Gold' has to be up there.

The La's are Liverpool I think but if its included, 'There she goes' is a brilliant song.

That's got to be one of the most difficult questions ever posed.

That's really just a list of the most popular songs by those bands...but IMHO, not the best. I think they're all great songs(bar the Elbow one) and it appears that people have voted for them without knowing much more about the bands.

I could go on about all of them..but I'll stick to The Verve's Bitter Sweet Symphony. IMO, "Blue", "Slide Away", and "Gravity Grave" are head and shoulders above it..but they never got blasted on the radio day and night, hence average joe doesn't know them. Same can be said about Joy Division.

No Happy Mondays either, a travesty.

Weren't The Verve from Wigan?

Just finished 'How not to run a club'.

I had a cost of an orchestra doing Voodoo Ray, IIRC it was on a mixmag cover.
