Off to see Jay Kay and his house band at the London O2 this friday night bounce

However, my only downfall is that my last train home from Waterloo is at 11:30.

As this is my first visit to the O2, I was wondering what it will be like to get back to Waterloo in time?

Could you not just phone the O2 and ask them what time it is due to finish at.

I've only started planning the logistics tonights, and the O2 website is devoid any anything vaguely useful.

As a lot of PHers will already have attended events there, then there's the best source of info; and of course top tips smile

I guess I could drop JK an email and ask him what time he's planning on finishing. Just not sure he'd pick it up in time.

I think you will be ok. Pretty certain that concert finish times take into account getting people home

The absolute hard curfew should be 23:00. Usually its scheduled for 22:30/22:45 to allow for artist exuberance and overruns etc to help avoid overrun fees (£20k for first 10 mins & further £10K for every 5 mins or part thereof)

You might want to sneak out during the final number to avoid crush at the station.......

Would it help if you knew the final number scratchchinIf so, I'll find out from my boys on the tour and you should check your mail tomorrow.

He says his last track on stage is 'Alright', with 'white knuckle ride' as the encore.

I went to a gig there that finished near on 11. I had to wait 40 minutes to get on the tube.

The tubes stopped running before I got to my destination - which was Heathrow Terminal 4 which is about as far as it gets. I probably would have made it to Waterloo.

Consider the Thameslink boat for Waterloo. It goes from outiside the O2 to down by the London Eye and will prob be quicker. My main concern is with it being jam packed come end of gig and not being able to get on/queuing for ages.

I was at The O2 the other week for The X Factor Live and got the O2 Clipper from Waterloo there and back. I think the show finished at 10pm so had plenty of time to walk down to the river and get the first boat back. Much better than the tube IMHO.

That's exactly what I intend on doing (Hatton Cross).

I guess I'll have to leave early, and Mr. Tubbystu has emailed me ......

My train terminated at Hatton Cross. I had to get a taxi!

I should add though I have been to the O2 around 5 times and the 11pm finish was unusual. They are usually done by 10.30.

I went to see Kylie on Monday and she didn't finish until 23:15!! I thought they all finished for 23:00. Luckily, because we were standing, we were out of the o2 and back in central London for 23:40.

I don't quite follow the desire/need to get to Hatton Cross. Central London to Hatton Cross must be one of the slowest tube journeys for the mileage covered.

Does it somehow offer free parking perchance ? There must be other routings ?

However the London Underground journey planner website suggests last train departs at 00:10 and arrives 01:16 - does that work ?

Hatton cross is the nearest tube station to home.

Normally I'd get the train from Waterloo, but my last train is at 11:35. So if I miss that then I'm totally buggered. So the tube at least runs later and it's only a 25 minute drive home from there smile
