It took me a few minutes of watching the corgis on the ad before I twigged what the tune was.

Now I'm wondering if Derrick May actually wrote the Strings of Life or if I've completely missed something?

Please don't tell me he sampled the tune from something/someone else?

LOL, thanks. I can now put him back on his pedestal wink

Have to say I'm finding the advert quite amusing and am warming to the cover (shame on me!). Not sure how the full length version would go down in a dark dingy club tho!

biggrin... There was an Electo-house tune that had a brass version included as one of the mixes a few years ago (can't remember what it was now - maybe a D.Ramirez track?) - I wonder if they got the idea from that?

I think the Original (whilst being awfully produced in a lot of ways - how can a dance track NOT have a bassline??!?) is one of few moments in dance music that can honestly claim to have moved the plot forward on all it's own - I won't say it 'invented' techno but it arguably provided the blueprint for what become the detroit sound as it diverged from the Chicago House scene!

Great advert, nice to have a cover of a classic tune
