Hi guys

I'm getting married in a month or so and want to have some music playing as the guests arrive at the venue for the ceremony (it's not a church or other religious establishment).

Anyway, I need a few tracks (15-20 mins worth) that will be easy on the ear for a diverse audience... any ideas for a tracklist?

Cheers

Get a string quartet to play some nice classical stuff, 4 seasons etc.

Thought about it but I'm already WAAAAY over budget. Classical stuff might be a good option though...

I've got all of those playing at the evening dance so I wouldn't want to repeat them ;-)

Really depends on the demographic.

Classical always works well with slightly older gatherings. A friend of mine got married a couple of years ago (He was 40) and he hired "String Fever" to play all day - both whilst guests were arriving, and again at the evening do.

Whilst guests were arriving, they played a mix of "traditional" classical music, and also "string quartet" versions of modern songs (chart music et al) If you had told me prior to the event that this was the plan, I would have perhaps shaken my head a bit and said "A bit to Muzak like for me" - but truth be told, it was superb, and worked really, really well.

I realise that you are over budget, so hiring a quartet is out - but might be worth looking if you can get music of that style on CD?

Someone else suggested Sinatra - at many events that we do (not weddings!) we use "crooner" songs for when delegates/guests arrive. Doesn't offend anyone, and quite a few really enjoy it.

If your guests are very specific (ie all into heavy DnB) then that's what you go with...... just let me know where and when so I can be well out of earshot!

I think that's a good shout... will look into it.
