...anyone else been following these show? It's kinda like Whistle Test but in Germany and they show a whole gig by a band. The Smiths one was really good but have just been truly blown away by the INXS gig - well worth catching.

Are these the original "eurovision" events from the 70s/80s in the Grugahalle in Essen ?
These were an absolut "must" to watch for us, any since they were live, beginning on saturday (late) night,
with 3 bands doing full sets, lastet well into sunday morning, and the "RP parties" did too.
The bands were introduced by Albrecht Metzger with his "cherman telefission proutly pressentz" signature
and the backstage interviews were done by Alan Bangs, a brit that got stranded in german airwaves.
If these are the originals, record them, there are some gems,
and even the german TV don´t have the rights to them anymore so there are no DVD compilations.
