Best off road fun in Scotland

Ok, not looking for a little dinky track or a couple of rocks to go over or a big field to drive around in circles. I am looking for a nice big area where I can take my Buggy and explore. Varied terrain, great scenery and lots of fun type place. Somewhere I can pack a tent in the buggy and stop by a river and pitch up.

Am I dreaming or does such a place exist.

let me know when you find such a place as i would love to get back onto a 700 raptor for some off roading adventure, infact leave it with me as i have a mate that takes his defender off road regularly on a proper site

As you probably know, Scotland is not the land of the free when it comes to off road access for vehicles.

The only way that you are going to be able to do the type of off road exploring and camping you describe is to either buy a country estate or get friendly with someone who owns one. Without the landowners permission there is virtually nowhere in Scotland you can legally drive off road.

The other alternative is to join your local 4x4 club who normally have access to land for club events although that would probably not be big enough to give you the freedom you were looking for.

I am fortunate in that I have a bit of land to play on
