After seaching on PH and reading some good reports,i had the chance to go look at a black 2006 RHD. 60,000 mile 2.9 crtd.
Off i went this morning. First impression was good, clean outside and in. My first question was there any advisories on the new 2 year mot (France). Yes. Slight leak from transfer box, one rear tye has uneven wear,and chassis corossion (slight).
I got him to pop the bonnet and i atempted to open oil filler cap,it would not budge. We had to use a set of adjustables to open it.
All looked ok. Dipped the oil. There was about 3 or 4 mm showing. The full mark was about 40mm up the stick! (worried).
I got my torch and found alot of the black stuff down in the belly plate .
I went on to look at the box leak which was sufficient for me to walk away.
The guy was gutted and there is no way he has had his head any where near the engine compartment.
Does anyone know of any well known faults with the two main problems? I said he may have a loose oil filter or the dipstick seal could be knackered but other than that i'm lost.

Neighbour has recently had major work on a works Terracan, however it is a very abused one due tot he thrashing it gets. Even though the works were extensive he found someone who did them remarkably cheaply and even picked up the vehicle and returned it.
If I see him tomorrow I'll ask him more about it.
