Underbody Paint

Can anyone recommend some paint (red if it matters), that can be used on the underside and on some suspension components of a HiLux?

My cousin is doing a bit of a resto on one and wants to use some anti chip paint that is smooth but chip resistant. I suggested Hammerite but not smooth enough apparently. Although can't you get a smooth version?

Any tips appreciated.

You're right, Hammerite do a smooth version called, unsurprisingly, Smoothrite. Comes in various colours, I used it for a similar purpose on an old Grand Vitara.

I have heard that the current Hammerite is a shadow of its former self. H&S regulations having forced a change of ingredients.
