I get a little annoyed at having to pay near enough £8 for a copy of Octane etc. However, I have found a solution which may help if you have a iPad. You can download the Octane app and download the digital copy of the magazine for £2.99, I'll be doing this now on despite preferring a paper copy.

I'm not a massive Octane fan but have been doing this with Evo for quite some time now. The iPad edition of Evo is really very good with loads of extra video content.

There is a local edition of Evo but it doesn't really live up to the UK edition (except the bits that are copy/pasted).

FWIW, I agree the UK edition cannot be bettered which is why I pay the exorbitant subscription cost to have it airmailed over. You can't beat glossy paper but sadly I'm just gonna have to get with the programme and accept online is the future. Must get myself one of those iPad thingies.

No offence meant, Harris. One of the few local articles that I remember being excellent was your account of the Dubai 24 hours.

I know what you mean about the paper version though... taking the iPad into the bath is not the most sensible thing to do!

There's something weirdly satisfying about having evo number 1 through to 164 on the bookshelf at home. It will be a sad day when hard copy dies out completely.
