I'm navigating for a mate in an upcoming single day stage rally. (Adgespeed stages)

Question is, I've done a lot of historic rallies and have a Non_Race National B MSA licence, but will this be enough for a stage rally or will I have to upgrade?

Nothing jumping out on the MSA site...any help gratefully received.

Cheers

That's why Peugeot bought me a National B licence at Goodwood last year - so I could co-drive for Kris Meeke. biggrin

EXCELLENT WORK! I was at a loss to get anywhere close...!

I think the only answer it doesn't give is in relation to the 'NON_RACE' element of my current license...?

I think that means you can't be "on track" with other people you're racing at the same time. So hillclimbs, rallies etc. For a race licence you need to do a test - which you didn't need to do to get your current licence.

Thanks - makes sense.

I'll give the organisers a shout anyway to be doubly sure.

Cheers both

Yes, check with the entries secretary of the event.

To drive on a stage rally, my understanding is that you have to do a BARS test if you didn't hold a Nat B or higher competition license before 2001. But I'm not sure if that also applies to navigating - I don't think it does but I would certainly check in your situation (if you don't have the 'grandfather rights').

A national B non race licence is OK if you want to Co-drive on national B rallies or Clubman. But if you want to co-drive on a national A event you need a national A nav licence.

Phone MSA House if you have any queries about anything.

I wanted to clear up a tech issue with regards to logbooking my Range Rover Rally car. can't have one with its factory fitted engine, can if i throw out the V8 and fit a diesel though!

Good luck!
