Bernie's Historic V8 series 2012 dates
Discussion
I questioned that Simon apparently its the Queens Jubilee a Monday and a Tuesday so thats correct. No website I am afraid. Not many rules, car must have originally be fitted with a V8 engine from the factory and be the original engine type, must be 80's or earlier, doesnt have to be an American car, can be a sports car but if so must be fitted with a full screen and hardtop, three classes at moment namely FIA for fully complient FIA cars, Modified for the higher performance highly modified cars and road going for cars generally running in road going trim i.e. steel and glass etc. (doesnt need MoT and tax!!) Tyres have to be a treaded tyre from Lists 1a or b. There is probably more but thats all I can remember at the moment. Oh and no whingers!!!!

G - I spoke to Bernie yeserday and he will welcome the Griff as is! I'm going to send him a pic but he knows its the newer shape running no roof etc... We know Bernie from a few years back when he ran the V8 Rolling Thunder series. It does sound a lot of fun and plenty of tracktime too!! (First meeting is a 20min qually and 20min race Snett300 Sat and then Sunday a 20min qually and 40min race on the 200!!) I've said to Bernie if funds allow I'll do a meeting this year to see what it's like - but the emphasis Bernie was getting across to me is deffo all about FUN!!
I'll e-mail you the gen he's send me (sure it has his contact details on so you can ring him to chat too, really nice guy!)

Thanks for the thought - I've just checked my profile for the first fime in ages and realised my email address is an old out-of-date one... doh! From what Al posted of the rules my car wouldn't be legal anyway, but hopefully I will get along to spectate at one of these meets this year.Hi All,
I am Bernie's youngest son, Adam - currently living in NY, but along with my brother Simeon back home, are trying to help dad get this series off the ground.
BTW - If you have questions, feel free to call my dad Bernie on 07958932921.
The rules are pretty much summed up as per Alan's original post (cheers Alan).
The concept is also simple... Lets try and make racing fun again, nobody wants to see one person run off with a win at a country mile, so dad has interesting ideas which you may see coming through to keep things interesting. Its all about having fun, safe, relatively cheap racing with excellent camaraderie.
Each meeting will have a group BBQ, tea, coffee, hopefully some special vendors (selling oils, fuels, swap meet bits) etc on hand, all to encourage people to interact and have good fun. Prizes too... Last round there Helmets and race equipment awarded, when was the last time you saw that happen?
So many times, we have been racing where people isolate themselves into cliques, this is all about having good fun !!
Anyone with particular questions can PM me.
Cheers
