Arrive and Drive - prefer RWD

Looking to try out some other types of racing during this season, would prefer RWD (but anything considered) and at entry level budget. I've got a current Nat B race license, all the race kit, RWD race experience and transport to any track.

I'm thinking mx5/bmw etc to keep the costs down, any further suggestions or offers either in reply to this thread or to my email through the contact button on this site.

There are a number of Kumho class D cars floating around, and they are supposed to have there own races this year, with about 20 on track in similar cars, should be good.

Roughly what does an arrive and drive weekend typically cost the driver for those various championships?

Arrive and Drive in one of our seven style cars next year will be from £800 a weekend including entry fees.

For the kumho car speak to trevor ford (his number will be on bmwrdc.com) as the actual club has a class d car they hire, he will be able to give you detailed figures etc

How does arrive and drive work from a damage perspective, is the hirer responsible for any damage or is that factored in to the hire rates.

With the minis it covered the car and pit crew any damage was down to you along with new tyres fuel etc (unless you helped one of the team owners win the championship )

A friend of mine has a few Mk1 MR2's that race in the red dragon series. I'll ask him for info about A&D if you're interested, it should be doable.

most insurers want to do a package of a couple of events and its quite expensive, and will usually have a big excess and not include engine or trans... so dont forget to factor that in.


basically as soon as you shut the door in the paddock your responsible for the car coming back in exactly the same condition...

insurance, a damage bond or your visa card are usually separate from the hire charge.

if your going to do more than one race, its usually better to buy a car and get someone to run it for you on arrive and drive basis, thats our prefered method of operation.

although having said that we will hiremout the tasmin and tuscan but they must be insured to an agreed level.
