Any other PH'ers entering this year? I have entered by bike-engined Sylva Phoenix, no #44, come and say hi if anyone is down there. I hope the weather stays this nice...

Hi guys. Steve just seen you are in the handicap class with me, I think I have been treated quite generously with a handicap of 4 seconds over the scratch GTR, you have been given just 1.5 secs. What sort of time do you expect your Noble will run on a proper 1/4 mile dragstrip? I know Brighton will be a tad slower.

Hi Lee,
yep, thought 4 secs was a bit lucky for you, looking at what your running.
Never done any time trials, let alone 1/4 mile, done a couple of pratice runs on the road,
but got to try to hold back a bit in first gear, as rear tends to spin up a bit.
Iv got 445 bhp with 465 torque so im hoping if i can get the power down maybe in the 12s
what about you ?

There's a longer thread running the Events, Meetings and Travel forum.

I'm number 15 & 156; entered the handicap and the classes this year as we were short on numbers.

Just test-fitted the new drag slicks today, and the car has actually seen a bucket of water for the first time this year! Hoping to beat my rotary time of 12.6 from 3 years back; first time at a quarter-mile for the V8 setup.

You'll probably win the handicap with that 4 seconds in hand. Some of the handicaps are beyond ridiculous.

Well, I have never run this car on a dragstrip but friends in similar cars get low 13's . Although that was on proper dragstrips not Broghton Seafront! I don't think I will be worrying the trophy but even if I won through a crazy advantage I wouldn't accept the prize anyway. I am just looking for a good day out, but I do think 4 seconds is way too generous in theory for my car. But I will probably fluff the run anyway!! :-)

Yes, terrible indeed. However, the news report is inacurate in reporting that the outfit 'failed to stop'.
I was unfortunate enough to witness the incident 1st hand and the outfit went out of control for some reason just after the finish line and hit a concrete bollard.
I suspect a mechanical failure caused it, or possibly a puncture. Irrelevant really.
My condolances to family and friends of the deceased, and of course anyone else affected.

Good to meet some fellow PH'ers yesterday.

Very shocked and saddened to hear this awful news. My thoughts go to everyone affected.
