Thinking about transport for a car next season and ive seen a few companies that specialize in this and it looks like a great option other than transporting myself ( lack of storage for trailer etc )

Is there anybody on here that has their race car transported to from a meeting, just wanted to ask a couple questions.

Thanks

I've only ever seen it done when the car is being prepped by a team and they transport if for "free". but your paying for the support...

For my first season Racing I transported my car myself with my car and a hired trailer, as like you I don't have anywhere to store one, managed to strike a good deal with a local company so it didn't cost a fat lot other than fuel. But soon realised that a weekend of races (usually 4 races + qualifying) + a 3-4 hour drive each way with a trailer can be quite hard work with work either side of that weekend, so managed to join a team who do it for me now, makes life much simpler.

Plenty of companies offering trailer hire if your okay with doing it yourself, and there are plenty of companies offering race transport but be prepared, its not cheap! Maybe worth speaking to some teams in your series and seeing if they have any space on transporters, even if your not racing with them, they tend to be quite accommodating, especially when there is money being offered smile

It would also be worth looking into a local Trailer hire company and offer free sponsorship in return for reduced/free trailer hire.. Offer to put some obvious stickers on the car where they can be seen in pics and by spectators and send them a few copies from each round, might save you a fair bit over the course of a season..

Surely most hire trailers are already covered in stickers? Standard practice for hiring anything IME.

Yup but most are happy with extra free advertising, remember not everyone who watches a race will have seen the trailer your car arrived on. I work as the press officer for a race series and a few of our drivers have successfully talked quite a few trailer companies into this, the lure of the odd free ticket and a ride in the car also goes a long way too...
