Clubman Rally Cars & Pic's
Discussion
Right i want to try and start a thread of Clubman style & Spec Rally Cars, pictures etc. I will start it with a couple of pictures of my Tarmac stage rally car which is an E36 BMW Comapct fitted with a 6Cyl M3 engine & 5 spd box, std BMW LSD ie not up-rated but has had the ratio of the CWP for another std BMW item, Std E36 M3 brakes up-front with up-graded pads and discs, std 318Ti Rear Brakes again with up-rated pads and disc's, thus down to the spec i really think this is a true clubman car one you can build on a budget as im only a Diesel Mechanic for a local Council so don't earn mega money to allow such fancy things as Seqential gearboxes and the like

On my 2nd ever event as a stage rally driver and 2nd time driving the car in anger, last weekend at oulton Park we managed to set a joint 2nd fastest time only to beaten by a WRC Subaru and equalled by a WRC Escort Cosworth, and we also managed 2 x 3rd fastest times and a joint 5th fastest time out of a full 90 car entry !!!!! Showing the true potential of a good CLUBMAN spec car !!!!!

Hi Daishag,
saw your car on youtube - looks really good - lots of sideways. Like your chat on the britishrally forum too.
Here is mine:
A fairly standard Peugoet 205 GTi 1.6, I bought it complete from my pal Chris in Aberdeen (and drove it home to Surrey!).
Only mods are:
Twin 40's in place of injection
1.9 GTi rear axle (hence disc brakes)
309 GTi bottom arms & shafts (hence a wee bit negative camber)
Chris's home-made electronic power steering

I'm using it on Single Venue tarmac rallies in South East England, and the occasional autotest & autosolo. Best result to date was 25th o/a and 4th in class on the 2011 Abingdon Car-Nival (out of 90+ starters). So far a 100% finishing record on 14 events. Next one is the Longmoor Loco in December.
Best pic to date was this one (video grab) from the South Downs Stages in 2010.

Here's our Scoob - Group N spec, just been through a full re-build. It's getting on a bit now, but we love it - although haven't been competing for a while, maybe do a few events next year if we're really lucky. It's a standard STi in an RA shell. Currently running a GEMS ecu with ALS and the DCCD centre diff. Can't wait to get back out on the stages - and I only co-drive.

Love the comments and pics upto date !!!!! No not missing the Chevette ..... OK quite a bit to be honest as allways had a soft spot for the ol Chevette's and Manta's but i know its gone to a good home up in Scotland and shes been drivin / looked after in the style she was built for LOL !!!!!!!
