Thanks for that, good to see them up close. I can remember Markko Martin driving RS50 OTH at the time.

An Estonian guy on another forum I am a member of, has a good history website for the Focus from 99 to 2010. http://web.zone.ee/focushistory/

Thanks for the link IanW - a very good friend was co-driver to Mick O'Brien in R55 (I think the 5th WRC Focus built by MSport?).

Last time I saw it in action was the Woodpecker Stages in 2009.

Something like the 50th one built yes. Hopefully the snow won't be too bad this weekend so I can see a few of them out on the Border Counties. There's 3 of them on the list.

Nice snaps! Is this what I think it is? Ie the Nav's trip meter? I did wonder were they were located that, as you cant see them in the in car footage, were as back in my day they were slap bang on the glovebox lid and very visible.

Yes - used for road sections.

I found it interesting to see tarmac and forest spec cars next to each other - tarmac brakes are a work of art.

Whilst i respect Mcrae for his natural talent & what he achieved, its the titles that he threw away that leave the longest sour memory. A long way from achieving the status of a legend.

Eh?? Really??

McRae will always be a legend! Fair enough he might have had a few titles to his name if he'd reined it in a bit, but on the flip side if he never took the risks that he did, he would never have gotten close to the titles in the first place. It was that driving style that won him so many fans and made it so exciting to watch.

Loeb does (did) nothing but win title after title, but how much of his in car footage gives you goosebumps like McRae's does?

McRae = absolute legend!
