Split Event at Silverstone (May 11th)
Discussion
Has anyone been to a day at Silverstone where both the National and International Circuits are in use? This Saturday sees the BRSCC Races on the National Circuit and the Britcar Endurance on the International Circuit.
Is the circuit split fully into two separate events (i.e. separate car parks, entry gates, tickets etc) or can you wander freely between the two? £10 seems pretty reasonable if it's for both.
I'm trying to work out how accessible it would all be, I can't quite work out how you reach the infield of the International Circuit (and therefore the Wing etc and the interesting photo spots around towards The Loop), the only bridge that I remember is at Hangar Straight.

I've got a vague recollection of an accident when they were using both circuits. Was Neil Cunningham involved in an Appendix K Mustang? Happened up at Becketts. They have since improved the separation between the two layouts.
Either way I'm going to head down and will be interested to see how they manage everything.

A split event was run last year. BRSCC on the international circuit and (I think) HSCC on the National Circuit.
All run as completely separate events – As will this weekends i.e 2 separate organising teams.
AFAIK once in the Circuit you are free to roam. Logistically it would be very difficult to separate them.

Both events run by BRSCC - if you buy a ticket you will be free to roam to/between both circuits. The description on the ticket actually says "Weekend Roving".AFAIK once in the Circuit you are free to roam. Logistically it would be very difficult to separate them.

im sure if you look on the silverstone web site, a ticket for britcar is a tenner andna ticket formthe brscc races is 9 quid per day or 15 for the weekend. so interesting to see ifntheynhave found a way to separate. i wouldnt put it past silverstone to spend 10's thousands on a few gates and fences to stop you.. because its silverstone

As a spectator/photographer I think I've decided to knock this idea on the head, it would require an insane amount of walking as everything is so far apart, especially with the only access to the International infield being at Hangar Straight (which in itself is a fair distance from anything of interest in the infield.)

is there not a spectator tunnel by the wing?
Access to the International infield is very restricted - wonder if this is deliberately so to discouraged the great unwashed from getting anywhere near the F1 paddock?! There are lots of new stands near the Wing now but if they thought a bridge would block the sight-lines too much, I can't understand why they didn't at least build a pedestrian tunnel.spyderman8 said:

The stands are temporary, phase 2 is a hotel opposite the Wing with a bridge across to it, unfortunately they don't have the funding for it.I'm amazed though that they never put in a temporary bridge somewhere near the International Straight for now, running a fleet of buses for the great unwashed to visit the paddock at events can't be cheap.

Yes, Neil ended up on another circuit configuration that was live - I half think it was the Stowe circuit but I'm not very sure. His description of it was pretty funny! Piglet said:
