This is going to be a tremedous weekend for anyone remotely interested in V8 Muscle cars or American Automobiles. I have just got off the phone to Bernie the Brands Hatch Speed event is very much on with Euro Nascars, Bernies V8's, etc etc (see link) and American car displays. Car clubs have been invited and Brands have received a lot of interest for the event with advanced ticket sales, this is going to be big! Bernie has over 20 confirmed entries so far and more promised and some real stunning cars entered and some top names.

Owners of Yankee muscle road cars are being invited down to and there is a deal on the Speedfest page for them to apply for free entry for the driver. Any American car owners that live North of the Thames and fancy attending the Brands Hatch Speed Fest on June 9th Bernie's son Adam Chodosh is planning to meet any American car owners who want to at 8.30 at South Mimms Service Station on the Sunday and take a cruise to Brands from there or of course make your own way there. All sounds pretty cool to me!

Here is the link to the event which is now sponsored by Chevrolet which means I have to go lol! http://www.speedfest.co.uk/

The Speedfest is looking bigger and better by the day now its going to be supported by TV advertising here is the ad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UosH-r6-6os so lets not complain that the circuit owners are not supporting this NASCAR sponsored event and UK mororsport. Here is another link to the Brands Hatch Speedfest page. http://www.speedfest.co.uk/

Hoping to take the yellow one with new engine I have just fitted but havnt fired up yet, will try to fettle the black un as well just in case. Yeah the De Tomaso (beautiful car incidently) is Ford V8 powered and the ISO Chevy V8, the Ferrari, Ferrari V8 of course! And wait till you see the Challenger of Bert Smeets, thats a delightful machine.

I will be there Saturday I guess as its not much of a slap for me from Watford.

Anyhow here is some exciting news for lovers of the old Thundersaloons, the Stars and Stripes Manta will be coming out to play with Bernies V8's at Brands hatch on the 9th June, anyone who knows of this iconic and famous machine will know its a must see. Dave Tetley (owner) son will be driving the car in the invitation class and will have to be shod with treaded tyres.

The cruise from the South Mimms Service Station has been cancelled as the event is a sell out and American classics have to be at the track by 9.00am to get there place to display their cars. However I understand that anyone arriving in a classic will still get a free entry. The South Bank has been designated to the Mustang Owners Club and a huge display of Mustangs is expected.

I did wonder how you were going to get round that.
