Avon Slicks - Wear Indicators
Discussion
Hi guys,
I've just had a look at my fronts and the wear indicators are just visible on the outside edge of the tyre but the inner dimples are gone :-(. I realise that the tyres are past best, but is it dangerous to run them like this? The tyres still feel great and the car is still competitive but i just wanted to check they aren't likely to just let go without warning? Tyres are cross ply.
Cheers,
Nick

From my experience of Avon slicks in GT4 they don't seem to offer any less grip even when they're down to the canvas... which is more of an indication about the amount of grip that they had to start with than how good the canvas is
I get about 1.4-1.5G of mechanical grip from stone cold with mine. A bit more when they warm up.
