Their estimate of 1500 jobs seems high, are they counting the G4 Stewards, burger sellers and ticket collectors for one or two big races a year?

I'm surprised the complaints about noise haven't started already.

Most club type car racing is a very poor product, only run because some people can afford the race entry fees,i think motor bike racing is in a better state financially? Do we really need another circuit, most of us moan about the state of the current ones,c**p racing, crowded paddock, long journey, price of burgers, jobswoth officials etc.

We already race regularly at Ebbw Vale, no complaints yet.

Could really do with a track in the south west, and before anyone says Castle Combe bare in mind its a 2 hour drive north for me from the mid Dorset coast so in reality no more local than Silverstone or Brands. There was talk a few years back about a cart track down near Exeter being further developed but in reality I think it was a massive over reaction from nimby types, imagining a GP sized event on the door step.

90% of those gripes are entirely because the track owners have the upper hand. As long as they get paid they don't care about anything else and have little interest in developing club motorsport in a way that would benefit the competitors or the organising clubs.

Great news wales definitely needs a top class facility pembrey is out in the sticks had hasn't moved forward apart from some new pits in 20 years. Anglesey again pain in the arse to get but money has been spent on it. Llandow is a glorified kart track.

Hopefully it does get built lets just wait and see and only 10 minutes from my house no moans about it from me.

When I first heard about a new track in Wales, I'm sure I read that it was going to be more central/east Wales rather than South. But never mind, it's great that it's happening.

I concur with comments about Pembrey - the facilities are poor, and it's miles from anywhere. Probably one of the reasons that not many people bother to go there. Entries are always low for that place, which is a shame as it's a nice technical circuit. If it had some better infrastructure, I'm sure more would go.

The Ebbw Vale track looks good. Car racers will be certainly "busy" around there. I can hear the complaints about the circuit layout now (from the usual suspects that couldn't drive a pointed stick up a cats ar*e) as it's not going to be a point and squirt circuit. Good.

However, I'd like to see the provision for a 1/2mile oval in the layout as Euro NASCAR is growing in popularity and this would be a great opportunity to build something that they need too.
