He failed to get out in any session other than the final as they had gearbox problems so went into this cold!

considering the total lack of running, it's an impressive time for BHI.http://youtu.be/VOXmUoPxHMY
Top work by John and team getting the gearbox turned round in the day.
(Just sad not to be able to come out to play!)

Time Attack has really pi**ed me off this year. Have sent emails to them, left messages etc etc. all just to enter.....
Not had one reply.
Shame as I think we would have been right up there at Brands.
why is it everybody else seems to manage to get an entry without problems? Not had one reply.

Shame you weren't there Simon, would have been a fabulous three way battle, any chance of you competing next year?
Itsallyellow, I don't understand how you've had no reply as the organisers are very good at responding to emails, any chance you can send me a log of the ones sent and I can then forward it on to them and find out what has happened.

Sadly not, did not really have a proper budget to do this year...Itsallyellow, I don't understand how you've had no reply as the organisers are very good at responding to emails, any chance you can send me a log of the ones sent and I can then forward it on to them and find out what has happened.
I'm sure Jamie will be back again, but it may take a while.
This isn't meant to be a negative comment - I know very little about the Time Attack series but is it a series that is more about machinery - ie the more you spend, the quicker you are and driving skill is secondary ?
F1 is the same - so I'm not having a go - just interested to understand the series ?

You are right in some ways but it doesn't always pan out like that. Mike Cantelo in the Club Pro 2WD Class has the lowest bhp car in his class and was up against a professionally built S2000 with Charlie Butler Henderson pedalling, the Miltek Golf which isn't too far from BTCC spec and a big budget Astra VX-R. Mike's car was built by him and his mates in a lock up garage with a total budget of around £20k (incl building the car) and took the championship.F1 is the same - so I'm not having a go - just interested to understand the series ?
So yes money helps but it's not all about big cheque books. Driving talent has some relevance!
A lot of people are only aware of the Pro class, but in fact there are eight classes available in Time Attack.

this year, the top class was won on reliability as much as speed, it's also fair to say that driver talent does come into it, and, a lot of it is being in the right place at the right time (that said, it is fair to say the standard of driving is very variable though-out the classes)
other miss-conception is it's all about power, not gone though all the classes to check, but off the top of my head, the winners in every class are not the ones with the most power (for that class).
A lot of people seem to forget that it's a cct based event and thus you need to be able to get round the corners as much as steaming up the straights.
the confusing bit is that there's nothing stopping somebody taking a top class car from this year and entering next year with the same car in a lower class (as has happened many times), I'm not making comment on if this is good or bad, just that it happens, so can make the understanding of what's going on somewhat hard at times.
Second placed car driven by Gavin Renshaw (that won the Pro class championship) with a 47.8

Where did you see that big budget Astra VXR? the one I have seen is built and developed by One guy in his workshop over the last 6 years, and run at all the events with 1 or 2 friends helping. So yes money helps but it's not all about big cheque books. Driving talent has some relevance!
