Racing in Cornwal/South West?

What is the best motorsport racing to get into down in the south west.
It seems hillclimbs are popular, we have a few go kart tracks but I don't think they hold any championships.

I have a smallish budget of probably £1000 + fees. Willing to travel a couple hours but no more.

Any karting down here or if I only attended the more local events? Track cars etc seems to expensive and I don't own a trailer etc, I own a van which would be perfect for karting.

Offroad racing? Not bikes.

Not to keen on short oval racing either, bangers, stock cars etc.

I believe there is a kart championship at Mansell Raceway, Smeatharpe?

Plenty of hillclimbing & possibly sprints too. Wiscome near Honiton is an awesome hillclimb venue.

+1 for Clay Pigeon. Great bunch of drivers in the senior TKM class!
