Hey chaps,

What's the best way to hard wire a go-pro that is mounted to my rollcage while in the car? In my road car I use a cig lighter USB thing, but it doesn't always work and seems a bit flakey. I'd rather have something more permanent in the racer.

Ta!

Just hard wire in the Usb cable, either before or after the USB connection. That way you eliminate the 12v 'cigarette' socket which often gives problems.

Mine charges of a phone charger to the cig lighter, I also use a phone charger for the 240v charge at home, I know some one will say I am doing some damage, bit I know a few people who do the same and never had a practical problem, when I bought mine I was told the connection was a 'mini usb'

For camera mounts I have 2 types - one for GoPro and one for Data logger bullet cams:

I use this type for my 2 bullet cameras as it is neat/tidy and works well. But could be used for GoPro. Clamps on with jubilee clips:

This one I use for my GoPro as it is quick/easy to fix/move. But it is more bulky and can in the way at times depending on where it is mounted and if have passenger/instructor.

Plus one of these for mounting GoPro to Clamp:

No I don't have any links with that company! HTH
