Illuminated Number Squares

Hi All,

I need to include provision for backlit number squares on our current race car build. Previously we've used the electroluminescent kit that Britcar supply, but the inverter is a bulky, cheap looking unit that I wouldn't want to have to rely on. Can anyone suggest an alternate unit or solution?

Do you have to use a backlight square - or could you use a spotlamp from the wing-mirrors?

Have seen some put lights under wing mirrors to shine on the numbers, ok till mirror is knocked off.

Thanks, I'll look into that. We've tried using LED striplights mounted above the door in the past, but they weren't the most effective:
