Contact your organsing club and ask them if your meeting is being run under a UK permit, you might be suprised.
Im in the middle or organising a spa race at the moment.uk registered series, uk competitors, uk clerk and scruit, but the overall event is run by rac b and rac spa.. Fia rules apply where they are greater than msa.. arguing the toss over roll cages at the moment !!!!My car is a 993 Cup RSR. Fitted with a factory Matter Cage from day one. The ( Belgian ) scrutineer was aware ( we were nt !) that Matter did not make the weld where the front joins the rear hoop 100%, probably since it's impossible to get at welding wise. We had to cut a hole in the roof and complete the weld there and then.
Re cages in general, IMHO you would need a cert or label on the cage, not any home made cages. The UK Scrutineer from our CSCC Race Series should be able to advise you .

The cage needs a certificate or label but does not need to be within a 5 yr date limit surely?Re cages in general, IMHO you would need a cert or label on the cage, not any home made cages. The UK Scrutineer from our CSCC Race Series should be able to advise you .

Do they check the date on the neck of the race suit? I ask because mine is coming up to 5 years this year and I would like to race at Spa.
They apply FIA standards, and FIA standards for suits do not specify a date, just the standard quoted above. Note the earlier standard 1986 is not now FIA.And to the smart arse that made the comment "thought the thread was about seats/rails", we are just trying to help the guy by showing that events run at Spa even by UK Clubs under UK permits use FIA Standards.
It was not a smart arse remark i was waiting for some valid info on seats etc.
If you have such a butterfly brain that you cannot deal with a subject in hand,do something else with your time Start a threadabout about seats, race wear etc with relation to use in non RACMSA events. Keyboard warriors, grow up ???
