As title states i was at silverstone for the test day on friday 9th May having a go to learn the National circuit ready for racing on saturday all parked up in correct position within the white lines and outside of allocated garage for friday and saturday. When returning from the fuel station mid morning very clear to see that a vehicle had done very considerable damage to the offside rear corner of my 2nd drivers silver BMW.
There can be no way that this was not felt/seen in the mirror of the vehicle/trailer which had done the damage. But no note under the wiper blade, no effort to find the owner, and no CTV. So just asking did you see this happen, did you find damage and silver paint on your truck car trailer when you got home.

Or just to chicken to own up to a hit and run ?

That's pretty much never heard of in motorsport. I hope someone does the right thing and owns up.

Sound like someone swinging out of the next door garage? It would be a bit dumb to hit a car just driving down the middle of the paddock. Who was next door?

Thank you for the comments so far, In a state of anger i did actually accuse the team next door who arrived while we were working within the garage, They had very very light damage on both rear corners of their trailer and an explanation as to the cause and no silver paint. But stated that they had not caused the damage so what can you do after that.

I believe what happened was that someone was backing a trailer in or backing in to turn around then hit the car then went and parked elsewhere

you are joking right!!
I have heard of loads of scumbags at the racing circuits, from nicked trailers, wheels, money, and once at Mallory some git sucking fuel out of a tvr sagaris while the owner slept in a trailer right next to it. there are plenty of scum around so lock up your stuff at all times, I truly hope that on all the occasions it has been outsiders coming in and targeting trusting people, but I doubt it !!
