Hi Guys

Is it ok to mount an ATL 100 litre ally box by bolting the box to the floor and thus not needing straps to go over it? The tank fits pretty flush inside it. Cant find anything in the dreaded BB to indicate if that's ok or not.

Cheers

A full tank will weight in at about 80kg (15 stone) for 100L (22 gallons UK) so why not ask ATL what fastenings they recommend?

Also you haven't said what size bolts you are planning on using, how stong (thickness of metal etc) the floor is.

If it was my car I'd want more than 4 bolts of any size in any thickness of floor and would be looking to spread the load with - straps.

An impact on the chassis could tear open the tank if the mounts are integral to the tank.I think that is the benefit of the strap actually being a different part.
