Hi,

Can anybody tell me if the slight bend in this roll cage front leg is legal for MSA regs?

Thanks

I beleive that it would be considered 2 bends and therefore not legal for MSA events. That's just my interpretation.

Agreed Dan. MSA aren’t too keen on dash dodgers either.

I've seen much worse racing...especially in the US and they proclaim to be very fussy about safety !

It wouldnt be hard to add a single straight bar or replace the bent bar with a straight bar though.

To be fair there's a lot of scary looking cages in the US full stop hehe

You will have to add an additional straight bar, top to bottom, not a major task. I did that when the change of regs was introduced some years ago,

If the cage was professionally built (eg: Safety Devices) and certificated as such by the MSA, complete with the front legs as they are, then it is legal.

If the car is under 2 litres (and forced induction equivalents) it doesn't need a front cage unless it's running in a series or Championship that requires it have one.
