Hi. I don't suppose anyone has a spare longer 5th gear (G50) that they're willing to sell on? My gearbox is coming off the car this week, so would be good to have the longer 5th to put in whilst it's off.

Cheers. Andy

I think most who fitted the taller 5th gear have removed it as the jump from 4th is rather large.

There should be one or two about and I am sure they will surface soon.

Hi just to put the other side of the coin , iv had mine in the box for about a year now and am well pleased with it,( Thanks thevet ) I was only out in it yesterday using both motorways and A roads, and I also sprint the car as well ( hands up usually only get half / two thirds through 4th gear rev range on a typical sprint circuit ) and i find the drop in revs from 4th to 5th not a problem and the more you have rung out of 4th the less I notice it as i pop into 5th as you are well into the tourque band of 5th gear ( if that makes sense ?)and when your in trundle mode its just over 2000 rpm @ 70 mph ish , or 4500 at 150 mph , err ?? I would guess hehe

hi
i run a G50/52 box which has the taller 5th gear as standard.. I ve looked at increaseing rear tyre size to 345/30/18 to increase further to gain more mpg...

I dont run 5th very much unless on the motorway as 4th in usable rpm is way above speed limit anyway especially with all the torque of a V8... If you have the chance fit it..
