Thought I'd get another thread started as it's not far away now. how many of you guys are going, and when/how are you getting there? Looks like lots of the other PHers are meeting on the Mulsanne on the Friday.
I'm booked on Eurotunnel at 9am on the Thursday, coming back 4pm Monday. Staying in some nunnery allegedly ... I'm booked with MRI as I got sort of invited by someone I know and when I asked ages ago I got no response from the club.
Anyone any experience of getting an Ult onto the Eurotunnel? I presume (hope!) it'll be OK for ground clearance.

BobM - I too will be leaving on Thursday AM, catching the 8:30 P&O ferry from Dover. There will be 2 Ultimas, to Elises and a Cobra, plus the Merc support car. I anticipate meeting up with J-K and Chewy en route to make 4 Ultimas. You will arrive before us but we could arrange to meet up if you wish.
There is a service station off the motorway near to Abbeville which is about 50-60 miles from Calais. I know it well as I broke down there last year! As service stations go it is quite good and there will be no shortage of British cars there. If anyone wants to meet up there, a time could be arranged. 12 noon French time would be about right for us.
The tunnel is fine for the Ultima. Only advice is to go in the over 1.8m queue as this will see you onto the wider tracked lower deck. The steel kerbs in the train wont do much for those polished aluminium wheels and the top deck is narrow.
Managed to get the crossing for £92 per car. The tunnel is so expensive now compared to the boats, nearly double the cost and if you don’t turn up for your booked time crossing, they charge you an extra £40 to go on another one which takes the cost over £200 per car.

Cheers for that Ultiman. With our package I've paid £16 supplement for tunnel v ferry. It's worked out at just under £600 all in including race entry, parking, grandstand and 4 nights B&B.
Haven't spoken to our group's organiser recently but last I heard was our convoy included a couple of 360 Spiders, Testarossa, Bentley GT, 911 Turbo, so the trip down through France should be fun

I'm a regular at Le Mans and would love to catch up with some Ultima owners as I'm seriously considering starting a build.

Right, been and had a look at the dip beam.
A dip beam on a right hand drive car has a flat top to the beam from the centre to the right whilst to the left of centre the beam angles up at about 30 degrees in order to light up cyclists and drunks stepping of the curb.
All you need do is undo 2 screws and twist the unit to put the angle on the other side.
This will then illuminate French cyclists with stripped shirts and strings of onions. The drunks will look the same and may even be British.
On cars with both beams in the same light unit you would have to mask the glass so that the angled part of the beam is not dazzling oncoming drivers.
