Guess Who We Met At Carlisle?

Carlisle Pennsylvania U.S.A., is the site of some of the largest auto shows in the country, and the annual Car and Import Show is no exception.
This year, the Ultima Display was represented by none other than "Terrible" Ted, and his "Not Terrible", lovely wife Pat. They also brought along a beautiful factory built red LHD GTR.

As readers of this forum know, Ted and I have not always seen eye to eye on some matters pertaining to the Ultima cars, mainly the CanAm of which I'm more familiar, but having had the opportunity to talk face to face with Ted, we did (at least I did) manage to agree on a few issues, and talk about some others.
We were able to arrive in Carlisle Thursday night after a 438 mile drive. The forecast Friday morning showers arrived as forecast in the form of thundershowers, which were gone by 10 a.m., at which time were able to remove the plastic cover taped over the cockpit, and move the CanAm over to the Ultima Display for a few hours.

Fortunately, Ted was very busy talking to potential and interested customers, so that allowed me to talk and spend time with Pat, and plot out a course of travel around the East Coast of the US for her and Ted, the next time they are here.
I did explain to Ted that the factory red GTR that they had on display looked far nicer than the only other GTR I had ever seen when I was making my decision as to what model I would purchase. The other GTR was the K&N Filter one that they built for the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2001, and we agreed that the changes and paint scheme that K&N did to make this a race car, took away from the lines of the GTR. That was the main reason we decided on the CanAm when we saw it at the Carlisle show a few months later.
While we love the CanAm, we now know the GTR is more practical.
Anyhow, we enjoyed meeting Ted and Pat, but we were anxious to start our 438 mile drive home before the forecast rains re-appeared, so we bid goodbye at 4 p.m..
Actually had to put on a jacket about 11p.m. for the last hour of the 8 hour drive, but still kept our shorts on. Did not use the heater as legs were warm, but was getting cold around the neck area.
In all we travelled 876 miles, leaving Cape Cod Thursday afternoon, and arriving home just before midnight Friday, after spending about 8 hours at the show.
Only problems we had were cockpit heat in the afternoon, and the terrible condition of the roads for about 65% of the trip, which would not be a problem in a normal road car, but started to be in the CanAm about mile 700. My teeth should start to tighten up again soon!!
