Hello!

The Air Conditioning system (and fans) permanently stopped on my 2007 Ultima GTR, but I have been unable to find any electric / connection issues.
The AC has not been serviced for years, which might have caused the failure, but according to the factory, fans are not supposed to stop when the gas is running low if the AC is wired properly (which is far from being proven on my car).
Since I see no other options, I will make a gas refilling, but I would need to know the volume of gas in the system. Does anybody know the volume of gas to refill? Any particular tips?

Sorry, but I am in the learning phase since I got my car 2 weeks ago!

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

There was a recent thread on this and someone quoted a Factory supplied figure.
However, a decent A/C tech should be able to fill it correctly without knowing a specific figure. In fact he/she should only be using this as a start point and balance the system from that point.

I don't have my wiring diagram with me so can't confirm if the fan would be on if pressure was low. Will look later.

If the system is low on pressure the compressor clutch will not engage and the condensor fan will not run.
The fan sending A/C or heating air to the air vents will still run.

Hi

There is a pressure switch on the drier. (black cylinder mounted on the bulkhead near the a/c pump).

Simply join the two wires in this pressure switch together to test the system / fans etc.

Thanks a lot to all.

The air blower problem was coming from a mis-connection somewhere near the switch button.

I made my A/C refilled. The gaz remaining in the system was at 680g, so I decided to follow some of the comments I saw on the forum and filled the system with 800g. It works fine.
Back to the factory, they told me that they orginally used 800g but it was believed to overload the pump. So, they now recommend 500g which seems to work as well but is more pump-friendly.

Cheers!
