Hi All

I have developed a few electronic bits for my Ultima, and am just finalising a small fuel caliration device and am so chuffed with it I thought I would share and see how many of you have fuel gauge issues.

This is how it works:

it sits between the fuel tank sender/s and the fuel gauge/s.

First you use the built in USB port (no drivers required :-) ) to calibrate the fuel tank by emptying the tank and adding a known quantity and tell the pc appliation how much you have entered. repeat until tank is full.

Then you move a slider in the PC app to calibrate the fuel gauge. (you will see your gauge move in line with the PC app.)

Done! :-)

It also has a CAN output that will give litres in each tank as well as estimated remaining range if you have a CAN dash etc.

It can work with any tank combination (one tank, two tanks, linked tanks etc) and any combination of gauges and any type of gauge.

:-)

Hi Gareth

Is this something you are planning to offer to other owners? If so could we have a couple of pictures and the price please.

You are an electronics genius Gareth.

You've created something very simple and yet massively functional! CANbus and everything! Very nice!

It's something that would make the CarPC enthusiasts get very excited about, you should put something up on the 'mp3car' forum, I think you'd get a lot of people very interested in being able to pull that information directly as opposed to relying on slow information from an ODBII reader and doing some calculations.
