Hi everyone,
You'll all no doubt recall the Maxximus G-Force, an all American Supercar based on our own home grown Ultima GTR - but no mention whatsoever of Ultima?
If you have not already seen this then you might find this interesting...
Press release for a natural gas supercar;
http://uk.ibtimes.com/articles/20110608/500-horsep...
And they have their own web site;
http://www.carartmcmahan.com/
Scroll down on the front page and check out the video "Speed test of the Maxximus G-Force at White Sands Space Harbor, New Mexico, on June 9th, 2010. Test was aborted when part of the car came off. A new test is scheduled for this fall." Ouch! Rear clip not secured properly I would suggest?
Enjoy!
Best regards, Trevor.

There a few cars that suffered rear clip failures at speed. Simon was doing 150 when his broke the area around the F/G and it lifted the rear of the car off the ground for a split second. I like the simplicity of the rear clam opening from the back, but it's just another thing to worry about so that's why I'm converting mine to pivot from the roof just one less thing to worry about.

Wish I could have some of the cash those f...ts use to look so stupid. Is "Fat man" the driver? If so, guess they need all that power just to power up

I can't belive it either, I wrote to them yesterday asking why not. Not holding my breath for a reply.
Perhaps the factory could comment if there was an agreement between them to this effect. At least then we could stop muttering about the disgraceful behaviour smile

To be fair (not that I want to be) in this document they do mention the Ultima although it is in a rather back handed way:

http://www.carartmcmahan.com/sites/default/files/P...

What I am interested in from the same document is the facts about the 'Prodigy':

  • 330ci twin turbo, 2000hp
  • "Digital Valve Technology" with 'no cam, no pushrods, no rockers, no lifters thus less parasitic loss'
  • 4v per cylinder

What is this 'digital valve technology'? Solenoids? I mean I've always thought maybe solenoids of some sort would be a possible avenue for valves but I can't think of many other options that if they were any good at all, why weren't the big car manufacturers doing it?

Unless he is talking about a rotary engine?

I like the concept sketches of both the interior and exterior but the rest of the talk about MacIntosh Audio... no thanks.

Whilst they do irritate a lost of people, again Ultima Sports might do well to rethink their hard line on a new body even if only just as an alternative option, the one in the concept sketches I have to admit is very nice!

That is the most ugly Ultima I have ever seen! Green with an american flag on it?? (nothing wrong with the US flag itself...) I feel sick! I'm glad they don't say it's an Ultima!

HAHA thats funny, their current engine is a twin turbo 427 SBC (thats the one with 2 valves per cylinder, a single cam and 16 valves and rockers) built i think by Nelson Racing engines.

Yeah, I don't think that's changed but this is for the new and yet unreleased 'Prodigy' so they allegedly they have a trick up their sleeve, one which major car/engine manufacturers are yet to catch on too apparently....

After watching a video on youtube about the maxximus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7qM4nKixp0&fea... I was more than a tad annoyed that these people not only fail to credit Ultima in any way, but actually have the nerve to claim the design and development of this car as a wholly American venture,the dream of one man to create a truly unique car and made reality by maxximus amidst a large amount of flag waving. I wonder how much of the technical claims of this car are somewhat separated from the truth.
I had wondered if there was the possibility that this was sanctioned in some way by Ultima. I consulted with Ted Marlow thismorning and his reply was "The only connection that we have with this company is that we supplied a complete Ultima GTR kit to a Mr McMahan in 2005" I find his restraint truly admirable.
I'm a big Ultima fan and I'm sure that all British petrol heads feel a sense of pride in what companies like Ultima have achieved and must feel justifiably aggrieved that once again the product of British talent and dedication has crossed the Atlantic only to be claimed in the name of a false pretender amidst all that flag waving,and remember Ultima want to sell cars in the US too.
Watch the video above and comment on it. Visit maaxximus' website and drop them a line. There's no real need for name calling and anger but a few home truths would not go amiss. We should all be sticking up for Ultima,so get commenting online and express yourself.

So he has sold one for $1m and has orders for 4more. Would be rather amusing if Ultima refused to supply him with the 4 extra chassis needed.

The original one?
Then they have nothing to copy?
