Rear suspension travel

I am using the standard AVO shocks on my GTR and am running into travel problems. On the odd occasion I hear a nasty sound and find that the tyres have touched (hit at worst) the top of the side pods and wheelarch at the rear. I have checked the ride height and re-adjusted to 160mm (after settling from factory setup) but am still finding that although it happens less it still does. Has anyone run into similar problems and know what the solution could be (bump stops, stiffer springs or don't drive down fenland roads?).

I don't know about the Bump lenght, but I took mine back to Avo and had them shortened so they didn't hit the bottom os the cill section. The springs use to fall out the top seat if you jacked the back of the car up, and you could not take the rear wheels of as they touched the bottom of the cill. Avo where realy good and shortened them both for only £30. Give them a call.

Some good news; After speaking to Richard at Ultima it was confirmed that the wheels that I was supplied with were 10mm narrower than normal! Ultima replaced the rims and transferred my tyres and I am happy to report that all my suspension issues (regarding hitting the body anyway) have now been resolved.

I am now playing with the bump/rebound adjusters after nearly being thrown of a fenland road last night, it is amazing how much difference a few clicks can make. The only problem that I need to resolve now is that my braided brake lines are catching the balance weights on the new rear rims, now that they are a bit wider it is all very close!
