Are those the Reviere side pods ?? if they are you get alot of air from them with the aid of a 4" pipe can you not ?

honestly thought about the same, but it was a little too much formula 1 for me, would love to hear the comments on this.

This is awesome. It would be great if the engine cover didn't have the scoop that is so low but did have a flat area that was made to accept a scoop like this one or even better...velocity stacks.

Great job.

You ditched the stainless intake scoops then Nick?

Nice to see the old girl wink

They are indeed Clive (it's my old Can-Am). I originally fitted a stainless scoop to the canopy above the carb to let it breath - perhaps not enough (and I think Nick has replaced the engine since then).

I have made the stainless and new intake interchangeable, just in case I did not like it! So the same fixing location have been used. It has taken some time to create in between other projects I have on the go. Incidentally there is a sealed air box underbonnet to segregate exhaust heat form the inlet. Without the high inlet this improved totally hot air blasts into the cabin area and reduced inlet temperatures by 30-40 degrees. I need to measure temperatures now new inlet is installed.

The side pods do not feed the carb, they aid oil cooler/air con rads and blast hot air from exhaust out of the back! In addition to the high stack the lower intake in the centre of the lid is also used. (Which was the original air inlet!)

Has anyone any apinion ram air will have to the carburation! Also have can any affect be measured!

hi

I have reviere airbox on my GTR which is sealed to the clip intake when shut. Ive not measured performance but know when I removed it , I was very suprised after so many posts said the intake in the clip does not get fresh forced air..

My carburation changed when I removed the airbox: I thought it would run leaner with no air filters ... but it ran richer as it was getting warm, still air, not the forced cold air from the airbox/clip.

Jetting is interesting though as AFR at 80mph is different to say 140mph(tested on a circuit of course) due to air being forced into the airbox at different speeds. I had it about right with the old engine but will have to do it all again for the new one.

Dont positive pressure feed a carb 100% of the time...on the overun it might blow back up the jets ..

..theres a clue..
